Line 6 DL4 Review
Hey,
I you are looking for a top quality delay stompbox but can’t decide which one to pick, the Line 6 DL4 might be what you are looking for. It’s not just a simple delay pedal – it’s a true delay workstation!

The pedal comes in an instantly recognisable green metal chassis, which looks and feels very solid and durable. The first you notice is that it looks more like an old school multi fx processor than a regular dealy pedal. It comes with 18 factory presets built around the available 15 digital delay simulations. That’s 15 delay pedals in one simple stompbox!
As you might have guessed by now the Line 6 DL4 gives you an abundance of tonal options. You can get anything from a crystal clear digital delay to vintage tube driven tape echo or real time reverse delay. The simulations include some of the most yearned for vintage delay units, such as the EP-1 Tube Echoplex, EP-3 solidstate Echoplex, Space Echo, Deluxe Memory Man and lots more.
Another cool feature of the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler pedal is the built-in looper. The Loop Sampler has 14 seconds of memory and features an 800ms pre-delay. The last thing means that you can also use delay when recording a loop, which is really cool. The fun thing is that you can do a lot of stuff after you have recorded your loop. All sorts of overdubbing options are there – half speed, reverse, you name it…

All of the incredible features of the DL4 Line 6 pedal would be useless, however, if the quality of the simulations was poor. Fortunately, this is not the case here. All of the sounds you can get out of this thing are totally professional, which makes the DL4 suitable for both the studio use and live performances.
The DL4 can also work with an expression pedal (doesn’t have to be a Line 6 one) if live control over the parameters of the different delays is what you want. It’s also possible to store 3 user presets – it might not seem much, but is enough in my opinion. After all, how many different delay settings will you be using live regularly?
To sum up, I can cofidently say that the Line 6 DL4 pedal will be a great choice for all delay fanatics as well as those guitar players who are always on the lookout for unique and original ways to spice up their tone. If you are just looking for a delay stompbox to add more space to your solos, you’d probably be better off buying something else. The DL4 has zillions of options, but if you are not willing to explore them, than what’s the point? If you are, however, than this delay modeler pedal is probably as good as it gets.
Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler Video Demonstration
Here’s a sweet video demostration of the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler. The guy on the video does a terrific job showing most of the crazy features of this excellent piece of gear. There’s not much talking as the aim of this video is to demonstrate what the DL4 is capable of. If you haven’t seen it in action yet, prepare yourself to be blown away!
The Line 6 DL4 delay modeler pedal is pretty far from a straightforward delay stompbox. It features 16 stunning simulations of some of the classic delay units from the likes of TC Electronic, Electro Harmonix or Maestro. As far as delay is concerned, you can achieve pretty much any kind of sound with this baby. Reverse, ping-pong, tube, tape, digital, multi-head, low-res, you name it – it’s all inside this sweet green pedal. Obviously, the guys from Line 6 wouldn’t be themselves if all of the digital simulations available in the Line 6 DL4 weren’t as real and as close to the original as possible.
The Line 6 DL4 delay modeler also features a looper, which is neatly demonstrated in the video. Personally I love having fun with loopers just as much as I love enhancing my tone with a classy delay, and the great thing about the DL4 is that you don’t have to rob a bank to get all of the delay effects you could probably think of including a high quality looper.
Ok, enough talking for now, I’ll be posting a more comprehensive review of the Line 6 DL4 as soon as possible.
Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler Pedal
The Line 6 DL4 delay modeler pedal is the perfect accessory for anyone who plays guitar, regardless of playing style, technique, or ablility. Generally, if you want to sound like your heroes, you usually have to go out and buy a whole bunch of expensive equipment that really hinders your practicing time, in that you have to spend an unnecessary amount of time messing around with switches, pedals, knobs, and everything else in between to get your tone just right. I have found that with almost any product by Line 6, that they have actually listened to what musicians want, and need as far as sound, and quality.
While Line 6 definitely makes a whole lot of awesome pedals, amps, and everything else you can imagine for guitar players of every level, the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler pedal is one of the few products out there that lives up to its reputation as far as sound quality, and doesn’t sound exactly like every other product out there. There just seem to be so many effects pedals that even to the average musician, can sound bland, and very similar to everything else that’s out there. What’s cool about the Line 6 DL4 delay pedal, is that it has a uniqe, crisp sound that you can only get from Line 6.
If you have an ear for music, the Line 6 DL4 delay modeler will not only improve your confidence, but impress your friends and family in its sheer ability to improve your sound, and tone.
